I'm a Big Boy Now!!
Wednesday, 28 July 2010 20:27

Josh is now the proud wearer of Big Boy underwear!  It was a bit of a battle getting him to go number 2 and when he finally did, we went to the "tractor store" and he picked out a new tractor and his long awaited seed drill!

We visited the petting zoo during Farmers Festival and Josh had a great time feeding the goats, and riding Oreo the pony!  The parade was great this year as Josh recieved a Junior Fireman hat, and was able to see lots of big tractors!  Ask him about the tractors and he will tell you LOTS more!

Easter 2010
Thursday, 15 April 2010 18:18

Josh had his first dentist appointment and he did great!  I was a little apprehensive and worried that he woulddn't open his mouth or worse yet bite the hygenist!  But he let them count his teeth (all 20 of them), scrap, and polish them!  I was so proud of him - we had to go get him a new hot wheels car!

Easter was loads of fun, and Josh had a great time coloring Easter eggs!  He would pull an egg out of one color and drop it in another.  Needless to say, we had a few brown cracked eggs!

22 months!
Wednesday, 11 November 2009 12:37

We are finally all settled in our house, and are working on getting Josh to say "our house" because he constantly says "new house."  He is quite a chatterbox and we are hearing a lot more of his thoughts instead of him just repeating our words.

We went to the Octagon Barn for their fall days, and saw lots of old John Deere Tractors - which has been Josh's latest obsession!  He and Matt posed for a picture with a Model H just like Matt's grandpa had!

Josh, Mimi (Joann), GG (Grandma Donna) and I went on a shopping trip to Frankenmuth where we stayed the night at Splash Village!  Josh loved the little slide and riding the medium sized slide with mama, we even tried the big slide but that was not a hit!

The library story hour kids took a field trip to the apple orchard where the kids picked an apple off the tree and ate it as we walked through the orchard and learned about apples.  Josh was even put in Mr. Ted's apple bag!

We carved his pumpkin and he was very hesitant to pull the "guts" out.  He reached in a few times but didn't like the slimmy feeling!  He picked  triangle eyes and a square nose, and I carved his name int he mouth!  Josh was a monkey for halloween and was a little unsure of the monkey costume at first, so we wore it quite a few times in the weeks before halloween.  In the end he left the costume on and was ok with it.  He even added a "ting tang walla walla bing bang"  to his monkey sounds!  We Trick or Treated at Papa's work, my work, GG's House (2 times!) and was it.  It was too cold and windy and we had lots of fun passing out glow sticks at home!

2 years Old!
Friday, 08 January 2010 14:39

December has been very busy for us as we took a last minute trip to Washington DC to visit my dad!   We went to the Hollocaust Museum, the Mint,  Air and Space Museum, and the Aquarium where Josh loved the Alligators! We also walked all around and saw the Abraham Lincoln Memorial, Thomas Jefferson Memorial, Washington Monument, and a whole bunch of the war memorials.  Every time we drove in or out of DC  Josh would say Tom JeFFson!  or Washton Monument!

The following weekend we went to Mt. Pleasant to see Nicole Graduate!  Aunt Kara even made it from Kansas and surprised  a few people! We stayed a the Holiday Inn with a pool which Josh loved again!  He is becoming a brave little swimmer with his swim ring!  But watch out when you take the ring off - he still acts like he has it on!  Last time we went Josh was dubbed "Aqua Boy" by my dad.  I am so glad he like the water because I do too!  Mimi and Papa even gave us swim passes for the hotel in Bad Axe so we can swim this winter!  The next weekend we went to my parents house for Aunt Nicole graduation party and our family christmas.

Santa was very good to Josh as he delivered and set up our own Island of Sodor (Thomas the Train's homeland) right in our living room!  Josh saw that and all the new engines and everything else was forgotten!  When we were finally able to tear him away to unwrap the rest of his Santa gifts, he ripped the paper off in tiny pieces!  Later we went to Mimi and Papa's house where is was a very "Green" Christmas.  His stocking was full of little wagons and tractor things to go with all of Matt's old tractors.  Josh loves his new John Deere Tricycle and can't wait to ride it outside and figure out the pedals!

Josh had a great birthday!  Matt and I took him out to breakfast and to a Toy Tractor show!  Then a quick nap and the party began!  We didn't have much luck blowing out the candle, but Josh loved his farm cake complete with some of his animals and a tractor!  Then he received his first car, complete with googly eyes and cup holders!  Matt has now named it his "Crazy Coupe" instead of Cozy Coupe.

He is such a little man now!  We are starting to potty train and just switched his bed into a toddler bed!  It is so funny to hear the things he has to say.  I can't believe it has already been two years!

20 Months Old!
Friday, 11 September 2009 19:52

Busy, busy, busy!  Since our last update, we have found a house we love, fixed it up a lot, and moved in!  We now have an "old house" and a "new house" as Josh puts it.  He did great with the adjustment, and loves his new bedroom and big bathtub!  I will post a few pictures next time.

Josh has grown a ton and is quite a talker!  He has put together a few simple sentences and talks about everything - even some stuff we can't understand!  One of his new nicknames is "mockingbird" because he repeats EVERYthing you say!  At his 18 month appointment he had jumped to the 90% for height!  He is such a little cutie pie and loves to go outside for walks in his wagon.

He had a great time at the Farmers Festival petting zoo, and surprised up by staying on the pony!  He loved it so much he had to have another ride!   He also loves his new tricycle though he hasn't figured out the pedals yet!  We also got him a Diego potty seat and have started to talk about the potty - we'll see how that goes!
